How Can IMPACT-LEARN help me?
Drive Hart has a clearly defined Learner Training Programme and Syllabus called IMPACT-LEARN, which is founded on some important principles:
Driver Training should be/or ensure the following:
1. Professional, fun and focused on your needs
2. Create a positive and safe learning experience
3. Ensure you become a safe, independent driver
4. Who is also well prepared for your Driving Test
All our Instructors follow these principles to ensure you truly benefit from your investment in professional driving lessons. Let’s start with a free initial WhatsApp or call on 07919 488360 to discuss your training needs.
How much does LEARNER TRAINING COST?
As of 1st July 2026 the hourly rate for learner / confidence and retest training is set at £50 per hour.
Each student receives an electronic contract which sets out the terms and conditions for the services which includes terms when charging rates can vary and notice that is given.
If you have any questions about the charges or our cancellation policy please do not hesitate to WhatsApp or call us on 07919 488360.
Can I DISCUSS MY TRAINING NEEDS WITH YOU?
Committing to have professional driving lessons is a significant financial investment and we want you to feel comfortable making your decision.
What is your pass rate?
Drive Hart have a target of 80% and above for first time passes, with most of our Instructors exceeding this rate. We actively monitor each test result to maintain our oustanding pass rates.
Drive Hart overall has outstanding levels of first time passes and outstanding student reviews. You can read all our Google reviews on the link below at the time of writing we have over 380 5-star Google reviews.
Our innovative approach to coaching has also been recognised in the National Business Awards -for innovation in coaching – and our contributions to community work.
Take a look at our Associate Instructor and Student Reviews below.
Whats Gromit got to do with Drive Hart?
Gromit (Jack) is Drive Harts official mascot and each year we award one of our instructors the Jack Award for best teaching practice and feedback. Jack Gromit is part of the Gromit Unleashed series, and it is in aid of Childrens Hospital Charity which we support.
We also award a sought after Golden Gromit for the team member getting a Target Number Google Review – our next award is due when we reah 400 5 star reviews on Google.
How Long Will it take to learn?
Everyone is different, so it is hard to put a precise figure on this, but if you get well planned private practice it will reduce the length it takes to learn to drive.
After a few lessons your instructor should be able to guide and discuss with you how long it will take.
The DVSA suggest for manual driving lessons you need at least 44 taught hours and 22 private practice hours, but again this is estimated.
Automatic lessons may reduce the time it takes to learn basic control (as automatic cars are much easier than a manal car because clutch/gear contrl is simpler), but again your Instructor will be able to guide you.
HOW LONG DO LESSONS LAST?
The standard lesson runs for 2 hours, which ensures you get the best value for money, and we can work progressively through the syllabus.
If there is a reason for you wanting to do more or less time per lesson than the standard lesson format please call us and we can see how we can best support you.
how DO I GET ON YOUR WAITING LIST?
To get onto our allocation list for lessons, we need some key bits of information which you can WhatsApp Sarah Hart on 07919 488360 over to us or email to admin@drivehart.com;
What we need to know:
1. your full name (as per your driving licence)
2. your full address/post code – so we can check we cover your area.
3. Your mobile phone number – to call you
4. Your Email – to communicate with you
5. Your availability for 2 hour lessons (days and times please)
6. Any other relevant information – medical, educational or disabiltiy needs that may impact or be relevant to your lessons
How do you keep track of my progress?
All Drive Hart instructors use My Drive Time software to keep student records and track progress.
You are linked to this software via a Student App which provides you with your lesson records, and a whole host of other information like how much you have spent on lessons, and resource links.
Your instructor will send you a link to the student app once you have started your lessons.
can i vary my pick up and drop off for lessons?
When you first get booked in for a lesson with your Instructor you will arrange the relevant pick-up and drop-off points.
Please remember that as instructors have to travel between appointments which means the locations should always be within their operating area of Salisbury. You should be ready 5-10 minutes for collection before the start time of your lesson.
You can arrange by agreement for different drop off and collection points but if your aged under 18 this must also be with your parents permission and knowledge.
Do i have to pass my theory before Driving?
No, you can start lessons before passing your theory, and you might even find your lessons help you understand some areas of the theory test.
We recommend the DVSA approved Safe Driving for Life app, as this has really good revision package for both multiple–choice and hazard perception. You can find the link to this app below:
If you are struggling with your theory test always have a chat with your Instructor and ensure you get a copy of the recommended reading materials which are listed on .Gov and Safe Driving for Life.
can i read your terms/conditions?
Yes your Instructor will send you an electronic terms and conditions from My Drive Time which you are asked to read and confirm acceptance.
The terms include clear statements about payment (24 hours before your lesson by bank transfer) and also importantly our policy on cancellations (you have to give at least 24 hour advanced notice of cancellation or whole lesson fee is charged).
If you are under 18, it is necessary for your parent or guardina should accept the student contract on your behalf.
If you have any questions about the Terms and Conditions, please call us on 07919488360 or talk to your instructor.
Do you have a discount scheme?
No, I am afraid not – the reason is we deliver really good value lessons, delivered by highly trained instructors who use clearly defined syllabus and we also offer additional online resources to support private practice.
The hourly rate has been set to reflect the costs of providing driving lessons and all our associate instructors charge the same hourly rate.
How do I Pay For Lessons?
Payment for lessons is via your instructor. As the contract for lessons is with the instructor, they will provide you with bank account details to make payment 24 hours before each lesson.
We do not encourage you to make large up-front payments to keep the accounting simple.
We do not offer any credit facilities, and if confirmation that the lesson has been paid for is not received 24 hours before the booking, the lesson will not go ahead.
If you have any questions about payment, please discuss them with your instructor or call 07919 488360.
Do you have to check my licence ?
Yes, its a legal requirement for Instructors to check the licence status of their clients. This ensures your legal to drive and covered by the instructors insurance.
Your instructor will normally ask you to get a code to check a licence from the official .Gov site.
You will need
- your licence number
- and National insurance number
- and when this entered this will generate an 8 digit (case sensitive code)
- which you need to send to your instructor (screen shot or photo)
- along with a copy of your licence.
Your instructor will then be able to carry out the necessary checks on your licence.
I have special needs can you help me?
Absolutely, many students have diverse needs, including medical, physical and educational needs; we will discuss your requirements with you in confidence.
It is really important to talk to us about your specific needs when you first make your enquiry with us so we can properly assess your needs and match you to the right instructor and the right type of vehicle for your needs.
We can also help to signpost you to specialists where needed and get DVLA advice on issues like – when you need to declare specific conditions to the DVSA and how to get additional support for your exams/tests.
Do you do Motorway lessons?
Absolutely, when near test standard Instructors can take students out on motorway lessons, which normally last 3 hours (due to the distance to travel to and from the nearest motorway). If you do not get motorway training before you test ensure you book in after your test. The rules, regulations and management of motorways and SMART Motorways can overwhelm new drivers.
We would also recommend further driving support to build confidence and/or refresher training.
Some consider the Pass + programme or specific lessons focused on your needs. Ring us to discuss your needs.
Do you do confidence building lessons?
Absolutely. We can discuss your specific needs in a confidential chat with Sarah Hart, who can then assign you to an instructor suited to your needs and availability. Ring Sarah on 07919 488360
